Highlights of the last few weeks…
Tuesday, March 24
Field trip to Rome guided by Francesco to see the church of St. Clemente (where Michelangelo’s Moses is). Then the church of St. Pietro Vincoli (where St. Peter’s chains are) Then Palazzo Farnese and lunch in the Campo di Fiori (some more delicious pizza) and then a tour of Galleria Borghese.
We have started cooking a lot at the palace, which is really great. Also we have been playing spades a lot at night- so fun. The girls here have really become like a family to me.
Wednesday, March 25
Visit to Bernini Elementary School. Adorable kids with funny questions (“Do you like cheese?” “Do you have a boyfriend?”) Then a regular day of class.
Thursday, March 26
Class with Maurizio and Jessica in the morning. Class with Rosella in the afternoon followed by wine tasting class with Maurizio in the palace. Maurizio made us a wonderful dinner and the spread looked like a Thanksgiving feast. All the antipasti you can think of plus pasta amatriciana and nutella pie.
